Window Thank You Cards

Window card with swinging "Thank You" sign.

The window is actually a plastic film and behind it is a small "Thank You" sign that swings on a cord.

I found these window cards in two sets at the Goodwill Store in Cerritos, CA.  The back of the card says it's from Rick Shaefer Design, 2005, by Leap Year Publishing.

I was attracted to them because each card has an actual window with a clear plastic film, and behind the window is a "Thank You" sign that actually swings on a cord.  I actually sent some of these out as thank you notes for Christmas gifts.  The cards are not too thick so I was able to mail them with a standard 49 cent forever stamp.

The Celebration Stationery Ensemble, Vintage Bicentennial

The Celebration Stationery Ensemble
The Celebration Stationery Ensemble

The letter paper features the American flag and Statue of Liberty on each page.

It comes with matching envelopes.

The set also has matching notecards.

I found two sets of these Celebration Stationery Ensemble at a thrift store.  I don't know why there is a rectangle cut out of the cardboard box.  The other ones I've seen for sale online also have this.

The ensemble features letter paper with matching envelopes and also notecards.  they all have the Statue of Liberty and American flag printed on them.  I saw one for sale on eBay for $12.99, and this set also comes with envelope seals.  It's also coming from Indiana so I am wondering if there was a large lot of these here for some reason.

I also found the same set on etsy.com that sold, and it also has the cardboard cutout.

I am guessing this stationery ensemble was to celebrate the United States Bicentennial, since the colors, printing, and font used looks like it's from around the 70's.

Chinese Zodiac Placemat

Chinese Zodiac Placemat
Chinese Zodiac Placemat

I was eating at a Chinese restaurant called Panda Garden, and they had these wonderful placements everywhere!  I love the black and red printing.  I initially thought this must be old or vintage but the years under each zodiac animal continues to this day and more.  This is something I don't really see.  I am used to placemats that are plain, with the menu printed on it, or for children to color, but this one was fascinating!  I liked it so much I was careful to not get food on top of it, and took it home.

I am not sure if this counts as stationery, because you primarily eat on top of it, not write on it.  Although, it can be used as note paper!

These cards are perfect for an engagement announcement or party invitations.  It comes with ribbon that you tie onto the "box" card, and the box opens up as a flap to reveal a pocket for the ring-shaped card which you can write on.  Really adorable!

The quality is really nice.  It's really hard to see from the photos but the box has a silver outline and dot details on it.

The cards are by COLORIGINALS for Paper Prince, and are made in the USA!

Hallmark Packaging

I found these vintage Hallmark invitations in the local Lighthouse thrift store.  I was really excited about these because I am interested in tea, tea time, and tea parties.  I might actually use these someday and host tea.  I really like the embossed tea cup,  The packaging says it is 60 cents for the back, which makes me think it's really old.

Scented Strawberry Notepad

Scented strawberry notepad

Primitives by Kathy "Sweet Berries" scented notepad.

I used to love collecting anything with strawberries on it, so when I found this at the store I had to get it.  I am not sure how old it is but when I opened up the plastic it was indeed scented, I think it has faded over the last few months, though.  It reminds me of my scented pencils in my pencil collection from the 90's.

Do people still use date stamps?

Old fashioned date stamp

Do people use date stamps anymore?
I asked the secretary if she had any of these laying around, but I guess people don't really use stamps with dates on it, besides the post office.  So she had to order them for me.

I've been using them to stamp my student's homework assignments so I know who turned it in on time.  I'm pretty excited about this, and I try to use it whenever I can even if it's unnecessary.

Desmond Lynch Postcard Series from 1979

Fishing by Desmond Lynch
Fishing by Desmond Lynch, 1979
I bought a bag of cards from the local Goodwill, and I found this series of postcards in the pile.  I first saw Fishing pictured above, and this one is my favorite. All of these postcards are ridiculous.  I love the bright color.  The back of the postcard says "GALLERY FIVE 1979 SERIES 08.11 ODDBODS M794 printed in England."

Bus Stop by Desmond Lynch, 1979

Balloonanaught by Desmond Lynch, 1979
This seems like a set of art cards you would buy from a museum, but I am not really sure where they are from.  I also tried to look up the artist, Desmond Lynch, but nothing relevant came up.

Prairie Crab Apple USPS Postcard Booklet 1998

I forgot where I got this gorgeous postcard set from, probably the thrift store.  It's a 1998 postcard booklet featuring an illustration of a prairie crab apple, issued by the USPS.  From the back of the postcard, it sounds like it was issued along with a stamp.

The postcards have some yellowing/browning on the edges from age.  The front is glossy.  The set came with one postcard that was ripped out, but it is still in the booklet.
